How I caught an alligator

Photos from my recent trip to Amazon.  We went Caiman catching at night...all was fine till I wanted to hold one myself.  Words slipped out of my mouth in jest and there was no way out !
Fear - Will it bite me?

Anxiety - What if it bites me?

Relief - Looks like I did it

Exultation - I am THE man :)

I then turned around and asked the guide if it is edible. He reached out for a plastic bag with a disgusted look...and no, I did throw it back alive into the swamp.

Art of getting drunk

Orange juice.Image via Wikipedia
Had a long night this week spent on getting drunk.  After 6 to 7 hours of revelry, was extremely proud to get up early next day with no hangover.  Thought should then log my feat for posterity...

So how does one avoid getting hung over...

Step 1:  Don't worry about it.  It will distract you from the evening.  Better focus on getting them down now...

Step 2:  Drinking is an acquired art...start by taking the same drink through the night.  Once you have a few years of experience behind you, start taking those exotic variants in between to reduce the monotony.

Step 3:  Go for the premium brands.  Cheaper ones might be lighter on your pocket, but then the next day wouldn't be much fun....

Step 4:  Know when to stop.  If you start seeing the party crowd numbers increasing across different dimensions, it is time to call that cab.  Much better to puke in the room than in front of your friends.

Now comes the hard part...you have done all the drinking and in a very contented state of inebriation.   Don't go to sleep yet.

Step 5:  Have food.  It doesn't matter what you eat...have something solid that will keep things down in the stomach.  It is definitely not fun eating two Inn N Out burgers at 3 AM, but you will thank me the next day.

Step 6:  Drink 2 to 3 glasses of orange juice.  The ascorbic acid will do wonders.

Step 7:  Top off to bursting point with water.  The more you can drink, the better it is.  Take an extra bottle (of water, not vodka!) with you to bed so that you can take some more if you get up in between.

Step 8:  Hit the bed and sleep at least 3 hours.  You need to let your body sort out the mess.

Step 9:  Get up in the morning and enjoy that healthy sunshine....and don't forget to have that breakfast with orange juice and water thrown in.
