One of my friend mentioned during a discussion that one of the secrets to success is to simplify things. Break down big issues into smaller elements, and at the atomic level, tackle the distinct ones. The composite solution will automatically sort itself out.
He meant it in the context of our business issues. But a thought struck me. Why cant I apply the same formula in my life too?
This random musing is to see where this thought stream takes us....
Let us take the motherhood statements first and lay it down.
As an individual, my desire is to maximise my happiness.
There could be two sources of happiness, physical and mental.
Physical...
Good food
Good sex
Good sleep
Good health
I am tempted to say all these can be equated to be proportional to money, but they neednt be.
I can get good food and good sleep if I have enough money to buy them (or even lesser, if I can cook well...is catering school the key to bliss? :) )
Good health and sex could be interrelated (good body/looks leads to good partners?) . Again, these are achievable without money. More to do with time, I could say....I need time to be healthy (to exercise?)
On the mental level, we become happy if our ego is satisfied.
Ego is satisfied if people respect us or recognise us.
Money obviously is a good answer here.
What if I dont have enough money.
I then need to be an expert - "noted cardiac surgeon wows patients" type of headlines can give your ego a major fillip...
Does these seem random enough. I am pulling a random stop here. Pls. contribute your thoughts and I will chime in with more soon.
